The Lanna is a very refined desk made from a rich straight-grain oak —rather than cathedral grain— lending a more modern and sophisticated aesthetic. Notice the inset metal reveal, a Villa & House signature design element, set into the groove of the desk’s top, skimming the perimeter of your writing surface. The overall shape of the Lanna is architectural, light, and sculptural. The workspace is quite large—like an augmented writing desk, providing a significant surface with ample space for a monitor, laptop, or many documents. It’s accented with conical legs featuring bronze sabots and each drawer is fitted with our exclusive, custom-cast pulls. We’ve combined the French pull style known as “Passementerie” with a bronze finish to give the desk subtle streamlined appearance. Reminiscent of a historical, archival piece of furniture, the modern oak Lanna desk will undoubtedly be an heirloom item.
