By 1951, Henry Francis du Pont had transformed his home into Winterthur Museum. At the same time he began to build a world-class research library of books and manuscripts. Carefully preserved in that collection is Furniture Drawings, by John Ragatz and Son, a volume of drawings and photographs that includes a wide variety of furniture forms available to the customers in his Philadelphia shop at the dawn of the twentieth century. Hickory Chair Company's artists have adapted a circa 1900 image from Ragatz's volume to create the modern, 21st-century Edmond Sofa and companion Edmond Lounge Chair. The Edmond features elegantly flared arms and back with distinctive buttontufted detailing. When ordering this item in leather, please note that pillows are not included and must be purchased separately. To match the standard pillows included with the fabric version, order an additional quantity of pillow SKU HC922-96.
