Creative Director George Sellers created Athena by hand carving it from clay; a plaster casting was then sent to Italy for production in terracotta. The original, thought to be from the 4th century BC, is on display at the Louvre in Paris, France. Athena was the Greek goddess of many things: wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law, justice, just warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, arts, crafts, and skill. Our goddess is made from terracotta, formulated in a method the Italians refer to as "calco", the act of packing a perfectly produced mold with terracotta clay. Once allowed to dry it is pulled away from the mold and transferred to a kiln where it's fired at 950 degrees, then fired for a 2nd time. Warrior goddess extraordinaire and all from the hands of George Sellers.
