Whimsical in terracotta, Sam the Mutt is a sculpture by the emerging Thai artist Nhut Nhathawut. With an expression that is so lifelike that it feels he may bark at any moment, there are a number of artisanal aspects to the canine sculpture. This includes the obvious strokes of the artist's tools that play along the surface of the dog's body. Brownlee Currey had some fun with this mixed-breed, describing his reality as, "There may be some bulldog in there, but Sam’s mental and physical acuity is more akin to a potato than a sporting breed."
