African art has a modern sensibility. It is abstract, with minimalist silhouettes, and integrates pattern with design. Our Kano collection is based on African Ling stools which we have re-cast from a wooden original, and, which bears the marks of a real wooden stool. It is elegantly simple with a repeating piecework base that establishes an abstract visual rhythm.
